Songwriter Night: Queen of Hearts

October 7, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Westhaven Residents’ Club
401 Cheltenham Avenue
Franklin, TN 37064

From Music City, USA, Nashville’s own QUEEN of HEARTS will stir you up, make you laugh, make you cry, and give you one unforgettable show. Each is a gifted artist and passionate performer in her own right, but together their chemistry is far more than the sum of their parts. Just as their individual voices blend into gorgeous four-part harmonies, QUEEN of HEARTS combines elements of bluegrass, pop, folk, and blues to create a one-of-a-kind crazy quilt of soulful and rootsy original music.

These four women are fine musicians and seasoned professionals, but they don’t let that get in the way of their high-spirited, free-wheeling approach to performing. In the popular format of the world-renowned Bluebird Café, they sit casually, with guitars, piano, and percussion, surrounded by the audience, taking turns singing their tunes and batting one-liners back and forth. The atmosphere is like having a few friends drop by and play in your living room. By the end of the show, these generous and witty performers have shared their lives in story and song, and you leave feeling like you have known them forever.

In addition to regular gigs at the Bluebird, QUEEN of HEARTS has brought their irresistible blend of humor, warmth, charm, and talent to venues as varied as the Southern Festival of Books, the Roger Smith Hotel in New York City, the American Artisan Festival, and the Swallow at the Hollow in Atlanta, as well as many community concerts and private events, delighting audiences across the country. Come out and see why folks everywhere are embracing QUEEN of HEARTS.

Queen of Hearts House Concert

Fri, October 5, 2018
7:00 PM – 10:00 PM CDT
Home of Helen & Rick Moore
625 Hill Rd, Brentwood, TN 37027

QUEEN of HEARTS Reunion House Concert!!!

A QUEEN of HEARTS show is like a grown-up pajama party with butt-kicking harmonies, so come on -- sneak out of the house and join the fun at Helen's place!! Bring a bottle or snack to share at 6 pm, and the concert begins at 7 pm.

We are especially excited about this show because our fellow queen and sister-in-song BethAnne Clayton has been battling ovarian cancer for the last couple of years. In fact, she missed last year's Nashville house concert as she recuperated from major surgery, but BethAnne is back in action! We are beyond thrilled to be gigging again -- hope you'll join us to celebrate Queen of Hearts' reunion.

Seating is very limited, so reservations are a must. It's going to be a great evening -- we can't WAIT to sing for you!

FAQs about GUITAR BOOT CAMP with Ellen Britton

What is GUITAR BOOT CAMP?

GUITAR BOOT CAMP is a group where we work on getting better at playing guitar while having as much fun as possible :)

Who belongs in GUITAR BOOT CAMP?

You do! All are welcome—from G chord strummers to bar chord pickers and everyone in between. Modifications are always offered so every student can really work at his/her own individual skill level.

So what will I learn in GUITAR BOOT CAMP?

A lot! Everything from Patsy Cline to OneRepublic, a bunch of different grooves, how to use Nashville Numbers charts (don't be afraid—it's VERY cool!), tips on practicing, dynamics, and much more.

How will I remember what I've learned?

I'll provide a GUITAR BOOT CAMP binder, and you'll leave with an outline for each class, a chart for each song, chord diagrams—everything you need to go right home & practice!

Hope to see you there!!
